indoor-outdoor living in cheviot hills

located on queensbury drive in los angeles’ cheviot hills neighborhood, this home is inspired by elements of danish and japanese design. wood elements throughout act as a tactile departure from the colder concrete and glass that characterize the home. from the street side, the home presents as a typical home in the neighborhood, but on the courtyard side, it is fully open to the outdoors. with this contrast, the design lies in balance between traditional and contemporary. the main spaces of the home feature indoor-outdoor living appropriate to its southern california context, and skylights throughout highlight the material qualities of the spaces.

in collaboration with the team at dub studios. contribution: construction drawings, casework design throughout, ff&e selection, pool design, skylight studies, digital modelling, orthographic drawings.
