a redevelopment of modernist social housing in denmark

this redevelopment for a modernist social housing development in bagsværd, a suburb of copenhagen, called for a rethinking of the housing block typology, adding more density and shaping urban rooms through landscaping and the redevelopment of existing structures. central to the proposal is an overall urban scheme for reconnecting the disparate parts of the site through new pathways shaped by more human-scaled buildings and smaller design elements to break down the otherwise monolithic housing slabs.
